The Department of Peace Studies Celebrated the World Day Peace with a Symposium |
The Department of Peace Studies held the 10th Regional Peace Forum with the theme: The Human Face of Conflict: A Reflection on the CARHIL. This years theme focused on the respect for human rights and how has the CARHIL fared in the fast several years since it was signed by the Government of the Philippines and the CPP-NDF. This Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law is a historic document in that the GoP has given generous concessions to the CPP-NDF by signing this document with a non-state actor. While the CPP-NDF also recognize the need to respect human rights especially in conflicted situations and areas.
