Implementing my IHRTP Project. This is the First time that I am introducing the Participatory Approach in Teaching Human Rights in the undergraduate course in Bicol University. I have learned about this method at the IHRTP 2015-Equitas in Montreal Canada and I have decided to make this as my project. Shown in this photo are my undergraduate students doing the introductory exercise "Wall of Fame". I have designed a course syllabus in Human Rights adapting the participatory approach of the IHRTP Training. This course will run from November 2015 to March 2016.

CHRISTMAS OUTREACH TO KIDS

THE DEPARTMENT OF PEACE STUDIES CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
SOME OF THE SCENES @ today's International Human Rights day celebration at the Department of Peace Studies. Bicol University Daraga Campus. Since day one Human Rights has been part of the advocacy of the Department of Peace Studies. Rain or shine. Being on top or being sidelined the department has its own little way advocated for human rights and continues to educate its students and future professionals about the values of Human Rights. Human Rights has two important components, (1) the Philosophical and (2) the Legal. While the legal aspect has promoted the spread of human rights as a social norm, there is a need to spread the philosophical aspect which means internalizing human rights. This the department will continue to work for.

Book Reading at San Isidro Elementary School
This is my third time to be invited to read at a reading project in San
Isidro Elementary School - The School of Peace. I have no experience
nor training at teaching young children but to me reaching out to these
kids and interacting with them is a rewarding experience. To encourage
and inspire them to love books. I will always cherish these moments, and
on the other hand it gives me a respite from the pressures of my work
at the University. It takes no special training to interact with kids,
only commons sense and more TLC (tender loving care). Good luck San
Isidro Elementary School see you again next year.
